Mercedes-Benz CLK (02 - 09)
This is one of those cars that just looks well. The design focus is around the pillarless doors and sweeping lines. Unlike the previous model which suffers with engine noise in the cabin, it is significantly quieter. It’s a practical car too; there’s enough room for four and there is decent room in the boot. The design of the cabin itself is excellent. It’s got a lot of top-quality materials and the centre console is smartly conceived. High levels of standard kit include some hi-tech safety equipment. It is a fine drive and makes for an excellent long distance cruiser. The handling and steering are really good. There’s a big selection of great engines. They’re fast, efficient and most do well on fuel economy.

• Practicality levels have improved significantly
• It is great fun to drive; it handles and steers well
